Why are all QR code cards on PC-Covid app blue?

This is the question of many users when those who have had 1 dose of vaccine, 2 doses of vaccine, even have not had any shots, all receive a green card on the PC-Covid application.

PC-Covid is the name of the application that merges from anti-epidemic apps such as Bluezone, NCOVI and VHD. This is the only epidemic prevention application developed by the National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control in collaboration with businesses, under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Health, Public Security and the Ministry of Information and Communications.

On this application, a new concept is “Covid information card”. These are colored tags intended to inform the user’s active status. In which, green card holders will be allowed to operate, yellow card holders must have limited activities and red card holders are not allowed to operate.

Many people wonder because there is a “blue” card on the PC-Covid app even though they have not been vaccinated against Covid-19.

According to a representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, at the present time, the default color on people’s cards is green along with a black QR code. The implication of the app makers is to want all people to be in a green state (ie, have had 2 vaccines and not infected with Covid-19).

To identify a person with a green, red or yellow card, it must be based on the background color on the card plus the QR code on the app. Specifically, green card holders are cases where both the background color and the QR code on the PC-Covid application are blue.

Similarly, yellow card holders are instances where both the background color and the QR code on the PC-Covid app are yellow. Red card holders are cases where both the background color and the QR code are red.

Why are all QR code cards on PC-Covid app blue?
Standard green, yellow and red card templates must have the same background and QR code.

Currently, many people are confusing the green card (blue background color, green QR code) with the default card (blue background color, black QR code). Faced with this situation, the Ministry of Information and Communications has directed the National Center for Technology for Covid-19 Prevention and Control to redesign the default card to a different, more translucent blue color for easy identification.

As expected, tonight or tomorrow, the default card on the PC-Covid application will be changed to a new color so as not to confuse users.
