WHO admitted, B.1.617 COVID-19 variant that has caused havoc in India so far reached 53 countries

The WHO, the World Health Organization in its weekly bulletin on Corona, has stated that the B.1.617 COVID-19 variant has reached 53 other countries so far. WHO believes that this variant has been first identified in India. According to the WHO, there has been a 23 percent decline in the number of corona infections in India in the last seven days, but India still has the highest number of daily corona cases in the world.

A report published by WHO on May 25 stated that cases of corona infection and deaths due to it have decreased worldwide in the last one week. Last week, 41 lakh people in the world were infected with corona while 84 thousand people died from it. That is, there has been a decrease of 14 percent in cases of corona infection and 2 percent in cases of death in this week as compared to the previous week.

B.1.617 variant is divided into three categories
According to the report, the variant of B.1.617 COVID-19 was first seen in India but now it has reached 56 countries. B.1.617 viruses are divided into three categories. B.1.617.1, B.1.617.2 and B.1.617.3. By May 25, the B.1.617 variants of the three categories have reached several countries. According to the report, the B.1.617.1 variant has been found in 41 countries while B.1.617.2 has been found in fifty four countries and B.1.617.3 has been found in six countries. However, the WHO has been unofficially reported to have found it from 11 more countries. China has also expressed the possibility of getting the B.1.617 variant in their country, but there is no confirmation of the presence of this variant in these countries.

Infection in America decreased by 20 percent
The WHO has announced that the B.1.617 variant is a cause for concern and information is being collected about it. According to WHO, there is a high probability of infection from this variant. However, more investigation is needed on the severity of infection and the risk of recurrence. According to the WHO, the highest number of cases have come from India in the last seven days.

In seven days, 1,846,055 corona cases have arrived in India, which is 23 percent of the whole world. After this, Brazil received 451,424 cases, which is 3 percent of the world. Argentina was third in this case where 213,046 cases of Corona came within a week. In Argentina, these cases were 41 percent higher than the previous week. America always stood first in this case, but last week it stood at the fourth place with 188,410 cases. These cases were 20 percent less than the previous week.
