The level of sales remained dynamic, particularly online (e-commerce represented more than 21% of the group’s turnover in the third quarter, against 18% a year earlier).

Beyond the numbers, what is the corporate strategy for the post-Covid period? Have consumers changed their habits? According to the CEO of Fnac Darty, Enrique Martinez, “It’s still a bit early to say but we see that there is a desire to return to the store following the confinement. This movement was verified during the summer”. Demand has been high “for working equipment at home and living better at home. It is not impossible that we spend more time at home. The French thought it was an opportunity to improve living conditions at home “.

Will Fnac Darty do as well over the whole of 2020 as in 2019? “We are approaching the critical moment which is the end of the year period. I remain cautious but we are ready to have a good exercise, I hope. But we are very dependent on the sanitary conditions and the impact that they have. may have on trade in general “, explains Enrique Martinez.

Despite the context of the crisis, the company is looking for new employees. Enrique Martinez insists: “We are recruiting technicians to repair the products. There is a shortage of around 100 people this year and 500 in the next few years. The priority is to have access to the job market for segments that today do not are not covered “.
