According to Viettel’s report on information security in the first 6 months of 2021, the global information security market will reach 162.5 billion USD in 2020 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR 2020 – 2025). ) about 12.5%, is expected to reach 418.2 million USD in 2028. In which, the Vietnamese market has a CAGR of about 16.9% – much higher than the world average.

As cyberinformation security problems occur more and more, the market’s demand is also growing. Data from the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications) shows that Vietnam’s cyberinformation security market is experiencing strong growth in revenue. If in 2016, the size of the whole market was only 400 billion VND, then 5 years later, in 2021, the number has reached 2,300 billion VND.

The trend of enterprises’ interest in cybersecurity has also increased with more than 87% of Vietnam’s small and medium enterprises increasing investment in cybersecurity. 39% of these are up more than 5%.

Information security is attracting young human resources

According to data from the Department of Information Security, if in 2015, the rate of information security and cyber security products in Vietnam accounted for only 5%, by 2020 this figure has reached 91% and by 2021 it is estimated that reach 100%. In addition, the ratio of sales of Vietnamese enterprises’ products to foreign products increased from 18% (2015) to 45% (2020), and in 2021 is estimated to reach more than 50%.
