On the evening of October 29, the Ministry of Information and Communications cooperated with 11 embassies of Latin America countries to organize the Vietnam – Latin America ICT Trade Investment Promotion Conference in 2020. This is the first time the Trade Investment Promotion Conference ICT trade between Vietnam and Latin America organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

This event aims to further promote the role of IT and communication in the link between Vietnam and Latin American countries. Therefore, the Vietnam – Latin America Vietnam – Latin America Trade Investment and Trade Promotion Conference with the theme: “Connecting Vietnam – Latin America Digital”.
The conference was attended by representatives of many Latin American countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Haiti, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Urugoay and Venezuela. In which, many countries participate at the ambassador level.

Not only taking place live in Hanoi, the event also includes online hotspots in many Latin American countries with the participation of many ministries, branches, associations and ICT businesses.
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Phan Tam said that the last Covid-19 epidemic has demonstrated the importance of digital technology for all countries. With the help of digital technology, Vietnam and Latin American countries can get closer and become partners of each other despite the geographical distance.

According to Deputy Minister Phan Tam: “Small traders can sell their goods from e-commerce platforms to customers whether they are in Latin America or Vietnam. By using e-learning platforms, we can connect Latin American teachers and Vietnamese students to conduct more online classes. “
