The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations has just held a press meeting to inform the 8th National Congress of the Union (term 2020-2025).
Sharing at the meeting, Dr. Pham Van Tan – Vice President cum General Secretary of the Union said, the 8th National Congress of the Union (term 2020-2025) starts from 24 -12 and officially opens December 25 morning in Hanoi.

This congress was held with the theme: “Promoting the solidarity and creativity of the contingent of scientific and technological intellectuals, innovating, improving the quality of activities and developing the Union of Science Associations and Vietnamese techniques are strong for the cause of building and defending the country. ”.
With the motto “Solidarity – Creation – Innovation – Development”, the Congress will focus on evaluating the results of implementing the Resolution of the 7th Union Congress (term 2015-2020) and identifying the goals. , tasks and solutions for the term 2020-2025.
In addition, one of the tasks of this Congress is to discuss and contribute to the draft document of Congress VIII and elect the Central Council, the Presidium, the Inspection Committee and leading leadership positions. Sharing about this event, Mr. Dang Vu Canh Linh – Head of Communication & Dissemination Department (Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations) said that, in the next term, communication activities, dissemination Knowledge will be focused on building a long-term vision roadmap associated with comprehensive digital transformation.
It is expected that the 8th National Union of the Union Congress will have 910 delegates. Which includes 649 official delegates and 176 guest delegates. There will also be the appearance of many leaders, former leaders of the Party, State and Ministries, Departments, Central Branches, representatives of provinces and cities.
According to the Organizing Committee, delegates’ qualifications include 143 professors and associate professors, 129 people with PhD degrees, 375 people with university and postgraduate degrees, 19 delegates who are ethnic minority. The average age of the participants was 55 years old. In which, the youngest delegate is 30 years old and the oldest delegate is 82 years old.
