After being featured for the first time in 2019, eSports has recently become an official sport at the SEA Games for the second time. The responsibility is even heavier for Vietnam eSports when this year we participate as the host country.

According to the Organizing Committee, eSports at SEA Games 31 has a total of 485 athletes from 10 countries participating. Athletes competed in 8 games, 10 competitions with 10 sets of medals.

In total, 101 group stage matches and 140 final round matches took place continuously for nearly 2 weeks. “Leading the balance” for these competitions is a team of 70 international referees.

Incomplete statistics show that the number of people watching eSports matches at this year’s SEA Games is very large. In some countries, the number of people watching is even more than football matches.
