UN calls for immediate aid to Gaza and help for structural repairs, to raise $ 9.5 million

United Nations: The United Nations on Thursday made an emergency appeal to raise $95 million for Gaza over the next three months to meet urgent humanitarian needs and repair of critical infrastructure. These include hospitals, schools, water and sewer facilities and other infrastructure that were destroyed or damaged in recent battles between militant Hamas rulers of Israel and Gaza.

UN Humanitarian Convenor Lynn Husting in Gaza, in an online correspondent conference, appealed to donors to donate generously and said their goal is to reach one million people for aid. He said, & lsquo; & lsquo; I am calling for immediate humanitarian aid to meet the immediate needs. & Rsquo; & rsquo;

Husting said that 800,000 people are deprived of piped water due to this fight, untreated sewer water is going into the sea, 58 educational institutions have been damaged, 1000 residential and commercial units have been destroyed. According to him, six hospitals and 11 health centers have also been damaged. He said that $ 9.5 million is for food, health care, medicines, quick repair of structures etc. & nbsp;
