At 91, George Soros, retired from trading, has all his free time to wage his fight against those (states, companies or individuals) he considers to be enemies of freedom and democracy. He mobilizes his time, his money, his own and that of his foundation (1 billion dollars of expenditure per year), to promote his political and social ideas. His fortune (8.6 billion dollars) and the assets of his foundation are managed by Soros Fund management, which has nearly 30 billion dollars.
Since its creation in 1993, its network of foundations “for an open society” has distributed 18.1 billion dollars (education, human rights, support for political movements, civil rights, etc.). During the COVID crisis, he contributed financially to vaccine campaigns in developing countries. His action is criticized by some states who see it as interference.
