Beijing: Other members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), including India, Pakistan and China, will conduct joint anti-terrorism exercises this year. It was said by the eight-member organization. At the 36th meeting of the Regional Counter Terrorism Framework Council (RATS) in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on 18 March, it was decided to conduct a joint exercise ‘Pabbi-Anti Terror-2021’.
Representatives of SCO member countries also approved the draft of the program of cooperation in terms of 2022-24 to fight terrorism, separatism and extremism. China’s official Xinhua news agency quoted a statement from RATS as saying, “It has been decided to increase cooperation between the competent authorities of the SCO member countries in identifying and suppressing the channels financing terrorist activities.”
The delegation of officials and RATS Working Committee attended the meeting before India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Xinhua reported. RATS is headquartered in Tashkent. It is a permanent part of the SCO, which works to increase the cooperation of member states against terrorism, separatism and extremism.
