If the United Kingdom takes it later than its neighbors, its green bond issuance plan unveiled on June 30 marks the blow: 15 billion pounds – more than 20 billion euros – of green bonds should be issued by April 2022 (start of the fiscal year in Great Britain). There are expected to be two operations, the first of which will take place in September.

This amount would be the largest ever raised by a State in such a short time for obligations of this type. For the moment, Italy has carried out the largest operation (8.5 billion euros) and France remains the leading issuer. Great Britain is counting on the tremendous current enthusiasm of investors for these instruments intended to finance the fight against global warming. Until recently considered a niche market, green bonds now reach total assets of $ 3 trillion.
