On the sidelines of the Conference to review the work in 2021 and deploy the work tasks for 2022 of the Ministry of Science and Technology (Science and Technology), the signing ceremony of “Coordinated plan to support the protection of trademarks and geographical indications” took place. for potential export products of Vietnam abroad in the period of 2022-2025”.
This activity is aimed at implementing content to support businesses in registering trademarks and geographical indications abroad in the Resolution of the April 2021 Regular Government Meeting No. 48/NQ-CP dated May 6, 2021.

Accordingly, lychee from Bac Giang province, mango fruit from Dong Thap province, longan fruit and longan from Son La province will be selected for pilot research, assessment and identification of potential products and key markets to have propose directions to support trademark registration or geographical indications in appropriate markets.
The support will be extended to other potential export products, especially agricultural products and local specialties.
According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, the implementation of this plan helps strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in directing and effectively implementing programs to support enterprises in export activities. In particular, focusing on measures to support the protection of trademarks and geographical indications of potential Vietnamese export products in key foreign markets, enhancing the position and reputation of Vietnamese products.
