With the act of posting untruthful information on social networks, causing confusion to public opinion, the director of a real estate company in Binh Duong was fined VND 7.5 million.
Binh Duong Provincial Police cooperated with the Department of Information and Communications of the province to sanction Mr. LXB an administrative fine of VND 7.5 million (SN 1986, living in Binh Duong, Director of a real estate company in the area) for have committed acts of posting false information about the Covid-19 translation on social networks.
According to the initial investigation, on the morning of February 7, Mr. B. took his child to Children’s Hospital 1 (Ho Chi Minh City) for medical examination. Here, Mr. B. listened to some unorthodox information and then used his personal facebook account to post an article with the content saying that Children’s Hospital 1 and 2 (HCMC) received and examined the disease for Binh Duong people who have to be isolated for 21 days, if they do not want to be isolated, they go back to Binh Duong province for examination.
At about 2:00 p.m. on the same day, after seeing that the above information was inaccurate, Mr. B. removed the post on his personal page.
Through verification, the authorities determined that the information posted by Mr. B. was not true, causing public confusion.
From the collected information, the Inspector of the Department of Information and Communications and the Police of Binh Duong Province invited him to the office.
Working with authorities, Mr. B. admitted that the information he posted was untrue. Therefore, Mr. B. also removed the post after 3 hours of posting on social networks.
