In 2020, the Ministry of Information and Communications has coordinated with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to successfully organize the Digital World Conference and Exhibition – ITU Digital World.
After 50 years of being held in many different countries, the World Telecommunication Exhibition began a new journey, with a new name, becoming the Digital World Exhibition – ITU Digital World. This is an initiative of Vietnam, highly appreciated by ITU and its member countries.
Officially opening on October 20, ITU Digital World 2020 with the theme “Building a digital world together” was held online on the Make in Vietnam platform at digitalworld2020.vn.
The event included Ministerial Conferences, seminars with the participation of Ministers in charge of ICT and digital economy, and leaders of specialized management agencies of many ITU member countries that attracted attention, watched by the majority of the ICT community around the world.
Taking place for 3 days from October 20, 2020 to October 22, 2020, this large-scale global ICT event is not only the first online exhibition in the history of the world telecommunications exhibition, but also This is the conference with the highest number of Ministers participating in the meeting ever.
At the ministerial roundtable held within the framework of ITU Digital World 2020, the ministers of many countries shared valuable experiences and policies on promoting the role of ICT during and after Covid-19.
In closing the event, the representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications said that the online digital world has created more opportunities for us to participate. More than 50 Ministers and Deputy Ministers participated in the meetings.
