Sparks, a cult duo behind the film

This year, the Mael brothers sign the script and soundtrack for the musical Annette and are in the spotlight of the documentary The Sparks Brothers, by Edgar Wright.

Duo formed by Ron Mael and his brother Russell active since 1971, Sparks perfectly meets the definition of the cult group. In its fifty years of existence, it has had few opportunities to meet the general public, but has exerted considerable influence on pop. Don’t we say of them that they are “The favorite formation of your favorite group”? The year 2021 could well be the culmination of a career that began half a century ago, with the combined releases of the musical. Annette , by Leos Carax, for which they signed the screenplay and soundtrack, and the documentary The Sparks Brothers, by Edgar Wright, which is dedicated to them.
