Eating but not feeling full

If you eat a lot but do not feel full, it is a sign that you should see an endocrinologist. Hormonal disturbances due to decreased estrogen will greatly affect the hormone leptin. Leptin is produced by adipose tissue and has an important role in weight regulation.

In normal people, the hormone leptin works by sending information to the brain that the body has enough stored fat, Dr. Dung explained. From there, the brain “commands” the body to burn the excess calories stored, and when there are enough calories to use, they do not signal the body is hungry. If there is a lack of leptin, the body always signals that it is hungry. This is the reason why you eat a lot but still feel not full.

Frequent cravings for sweets

People with a large belly and frequent cravings for sweets may be experiencing insulin resistance. When insulin levels rise, the hormone leptin increases, causing an imbalance. The increased leptin hormone will cause dysfunction in work, causing the signal to send excess fat to the brain to be interrupted. Therefore, you always feel cravings and especially crave foods with high sugar content.

Frequent insomnia, irritability

The hormone progesterone helps the central nervous system feel relaxed, calm and maintain a steady sleep. Frequent insomnia in women is mainly due to decreased progesterone levels. Therefore, when there is a lack of the hormone progesterone, you will have difficulty sleeping, and your mood will easily become irritable and stressed. Scientific nutrition: Everyone’s diet is different depending on age and gender. Women aged 25 and older should limit the use of sugary and starchy foods, and add enough protein from 20-30% in a meal.

Eat a variety of healthy foods: to get enough vitamins and minerals from many sources. Women should eat a lot of green vegetables, nuts, cereals; Limit the intake of fried, greasy and spicy foods. Good fats from fish, or olive oil, palm oil… are also very beneficial.
