The divorce only lasted a few months. SCOR has decided to return to the French Insurance Federation (FFA) which it left this summer to protest against the way its members were put to work at the start of the health crisis. The decision, taken after the main organization in the sector changed its statutes, was formalized earlier this week by mail, according to our information.

The sector, put under pressure by politicians and policyholders from the start of the pandemic, often appeared divided, even sometimes inaudible, in particular on the issue of dealing with operating losses. The departure of SCOR, a heavyweight in the sector headed by Denis Kessler, a historical spokesperson for the profession, illustrated these divisions. Especially since it was added to the departure of another reinsurer: Munich Re.
