As of today, users of Samsung’s 5G phone lineup will be able to experience experimental 5G networks.
According to information from Viettel, the phones belonging to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G product line can use the experimental 5G network. It is also currently the only carrier with 5G waves compatible with Samsung devices.
Previously, at the end of November, Viettel put 5G service commercial trial in Hanoi. Viettel’s 5G testing coverage area includes main streets in 3 districts of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, and Ba Dinh.

In total, there will be 100 5G transceiver stations deployed by Viettel in the test area. In which, there are 15 5G stations from Make in Vietnam and 85 stations of Ericsson (Sweden).
However, at that time, there were only 5G phones from a few manufacturers such as Oppo (Find X2, Find X2 pro), Xiaomi (Mi 10T Pro 5G, Poco F2 Pro), ZTE (AXON 10 pro 5G), Realme (Realme X50 pro 5G), Huawei (P40, P40 pro, P40 Pro Plus are capable of connecting to Viettel’s 5G network.
Sharing the above information, Viettel representative said that this carrier has cooperated with Samsung to perform hundreds of network quality tests to ensure that the 5G network can be fully compatible with Samsung terminals. After the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G, the rest of Samsung models will one by one be updated with software to be compatible with the waves of the new generation mobile network.
