Quang Ngai would like to transfer more than 186,000 doses of Covid vaccine to another place – VnExpress

Due to the low demand for vaccination in the area compared to the amount of vaccine allocated, Quang Ngai would like to transfer more than 186,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine.

Answer VnExpress On the evening of June 13, a representative of the Quang Ngai Provincial Department of Health said that the population situation in the area fluctuated due to adaptation to Covid-19, many people went to the South to work after receiving two doses of the vaccine. In addition, many people have a subjective mentality, thinking that they have immunity against Covid after being vaccinated with two basic doses, so they do not want to receive further vaccinations. Over the past time, the health sector has tried to convince people to vaccinate, but the effect is low.

Currently, the province has more than 186,000 doses of Covid vaccine remaining, with an expiration date of June 30, distributed in March. Therefore, the Provincial People’s Committee has sent an official letter asking the Ministry of Health to move the vaccine to a place where it is more needed.

The representative of the Expanded Immunization Program (TCMR), the Ministry of Health, said that he had received the feedback from Quang Ngai and tried to move the vaccine to meet the expiry date. “In the near future, the TCMR Program will issue more guidelines on vaccination to effectively use the remaining vaccines,” the representative added.

Quang Ngai was among 13 provinces urged by the Ministry of Health to receive the vaccine on June 10. There are also Dien Bien, Ha Nam, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Can Tho, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Dong Nai, Ca Mau and Thanh Hoa.

This is not the only place where there is still a vaccine, not receiving a Covid vaccine. According to the conclusion notice of Deputy Health Minister Do Xuan Tuyen issued on June 9, there are still many vaccines in the country, including about 8.8 million doses in regions, 2.7 million doses in the province and a number of vaccines in reserve. at the central level have not been statistics (data as of 1/6). For example, the Southwest region has hundreds of thousands of vaccine doses in stock, for example Vinh Long and Dong Thap each have about 200,000 doses left, Bac Lieu 250,000 doses, An Giang over 100,000 doses…

Deputy Minister Tuyen assessed that the vaccine has “a high risk of excess and expiration that must be canceled if localities do not step up to receive vaccines and deploy vaccination”. Therefore, the Ministry of Health asked the provinces to increase vaccination, review and make specific statistics of those who need the third and fourth shots and children 5-11 years old in the injection age. The provinces have not yet received the vaccine, the Deputy Minister proposed to receive it immediately. Any locality that does not receive the vaccine, or does not check enough people who are required to be vaccinated, so that the disease spreads in the area, must take full responsibility before the Government.

As of June 12, more than 223.6 million doses of Covid vaccine have been administered nationwide, of which more than 43 million thirds, more than 960,000 quadruple doses, more than 5.3 million injections for children aged 5-11.
