Pharmacy in Saigon will give medicine to F0

Some pharmacies will be “extension arms” of the medical station; After receiving medicine bags A, B, C will be distributed to F0s for home treatment.

On the afternoon of December 13, at a press conference on epidemic prevention and control, Chief of Office of the Department of Health Nguyen Thi Huynh Mai said that the distribution of medicine bags A (antipyretic and vitamins), B (anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant), C (antiviral drug molnupiravir) for Covid-19 patients to be treated at home is the task of public health – that is, fixed and mobile stations. However, because the amount of F0 increased greatly, there were not enough medical staff to bring the medicine to the patient’s home immediately, so the city called on the private pharmacy to participate and received a positive response.

In addition, the city is implementing a campaign to care for and protect at-risk groups (over 65 years old, with underlying medical conditions), so health workers are having to focus here, spending a lot of energy. The participation of some pharmacies in distributing free medicine bags for Covid-19 treatment is one of three activities outlined by the Department of Health when mobilizing private pharmacies to participate in epidemic prevention.

However, not all 6,500 pharmacies across the city will provide free medicine for F0, but if needed, the Department of Health will designate a pharmacy in that area to support. “The regulation on coordination is built on the principle that the Department tightly controls the bags of medicine, avoids confusion about buying and selling drugs, and provides them for free,” said Ms. Mai.

In addition, the pharmacy is also responsible for providing over-the-counter or prescription drugs (prescribed by mobile medical stations or network of companion doctors); medical supplies and equipment (biological products, rapid tests, blood oxygen measuring instruments, thermometers…) have been registered for F0 health care at home. The Department of Health requires pharmacies to sell drugs and equipment at the right price and with quality assurance.

In addition, each pharmacy will be a volunteer to communicate, bridge for advice and guide F0 healthcare at home. If a patient has suspicious symptoms to buy medicine, pharmacy staff must immediately provide phone numbers, instruct them or their relatives to contact fixed, mobile medical stations, Covid-19 care teams in the community. copper.
