Pakistan’s New PM: The Parliament of Pakistan today elected Shehbaz Sharif as the 23rd Prime Minister of the country. Speaker Ayaz Sadiq announced this. Sharif got 174 votes. On the other hand, Imran Khan’s party Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI) did not participate in the voting. For victory in the 342-member house, the support of at least 172 members was needed.

In his first speech in the House as Prime Minister, Shahbaz said that for the first time in the history of Pakistan, a no-confidence motion against a Prime Minister has been successful. “Good has triumphed over evil,” he said.

He said that it is a big day for the entire country, where an elected Prime Minister has been sent home legally and constitutionally. During this, Shahbaz also clarified his stand regarding foreign policy. He said that he wants good relations with India, but it cannot be achieved without the resolution of the Kashmir issue.

The new PM said, “When Pakistan had made India’s teeth sour by doing five blasts in India and Pakistan was being criticized, then Saudi Arabia supported us. Kashmir issue cannot be resolved without Saudi Arabia.

Shahbaz Sharif said, “The progress that Turkey has made is unmatched, Turkey is the country when it came to the independence of Kashmir, Turkey stood with Pakistan.”

Shahbaz Sharif said that no one should doubt that China is the partner of Pakistan’s happiness and sorrow. China supported us on the International Forum. Any government may come or go. Anyone can do anything. No one can snatch the friendship of China from us. Earlier the government weakened our friendship with China. We are thankful to the President of China, Xi Jinping.
