Old: 24h to live and die

CRITICAL – Tourists are trapped on a paradisiacal beach where time flies in a hurry. The mechanics of M. Night Shyamalan jam a bit quickly.

Crystal clear and turquoise water, fine white sand, a cove and its caves protected from view by a wall of rocks. From this vision of tropical paradise, the director of Sixth Sense and Split, M. Night Shyamalan, made hell in Old, adaptation of the graphic novel Sand castle by Pierre-Oscar Lévy and Frederik Peeters.

Couple at the end of the line, Guy (Gael Garcia Bernal, delighted to play a weak and transparent husband) and Prisca Capa (Vicky Krieps, ubiquitous in Cannes) offer their children the ultimate five-star vacation before announcing their separation. Along with two other couples, the Capa accept the excursion to a remote beach recommended by the hotel. Equally disturbing, toddlers grow before the eyes of terrified adults of tens of centimeters and become teenagers. On this beach, time passes in accelerated fashion.
