Obama’s book ‘A Promised Land’ ready to set new sales record

New York: Former US President Barack Obama’s book A Promised Land sold 8,90,000 copies in the first 24 hours in the US and Canada, and is set to become the best-selling presidential memoir in modern history. The first day’s sale is the record for ‘Penguin Random House’, which also includes pre-booking, e-book and audio sales to purchase the book.

“We are happy with the first day’s sales,” said David Drake, publisher of Penguin Random House. He said, “It reflects the widespread enthusiasm that readers have received from (former) President Obama’s much-awaited book Was for

‘A Promised Land’ still tops ‘Amazon’ and ‘Barnes and Noble’ (dot com). Barnes and Noble CEO James Dont said that it sold more than 50,000 copies on the first day and is expected to sell 1 million copies in 10 days. Obama’s memoir of 768 pages costs $ 45.

In the book ‘A Promised Land’, Obama details his journey from the 2008 election campaign to the campaign to kill Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad (Pakistan) at the end of his first term as president. This book has two parts, the first of which was released worldwide on Tuesday.
