Ukraine-Russia War: More than 750 Indian students stranded in Ukraine’s Sumy State University have arrived since 5 am to pick up Indian Embassy buses from the university campus. Students are being driven towards Poltava. Also, as per the instructions of the embassy, students have not been allowed to do videography.
Indian students had earlier told in a video message that it would be risky for them to reach the border on foot amid the bombing, after which the students are being evacuated from Sumi when the situation is better than before. According to the information, buses will leave shortly for the Indian students trapped in Soom. Stranded Indian students will be evacuated via Romania border and tomorrow the students will return to India by Operation Ganga flight.
Over 15,000 Indians brought back
The war between Ukraine and Russia continues for the 11th day. The Government of India has launched ‘Operation Ganga’ campaign to bring back its citizens trapped in Ukraine. Under Operation Ganga, 2,135 Indians were brought back to the country today i.e. on Sunday by 11 special flights from neighboring countries of Ukraine. With this, more than 15,900 Indians have been brought back since the start of special flights on February 22, 2022, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.
