More than 540,000 children in Ho Chi Minh City were vaccinated in 6 days


531,998 12-17-year-old children in Ho Chi Minh City have been vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccine, of which 51 cases of mild reactions after injection have all been treated promptly and stably, by the end of November 1.

According to the Center for Disease Control of Ho Chi Minh City (HCDC), after 6 days from the first day of launching the Covid-19 vaccination campaign for children 12-17 years old, the city has vaccinated 212,372 16-17 year olds, 319,626 12 year olds. -15 years old. The vaccination campaign is organized safely.

On November 1, the city deployed 203 injection points including 141 schools, 53 community points and 9 hospitals in 20 districts and Thu Duc city. Particularly, Tan Binh and Phu Nhuan districts do not organize injections during the day. The number of injections per day is 82,519 children, including 10,612 children 16-17 years old, 71,907 children 12-15 years old, with 9 cases of mild reactions after injection.

According to HCDC, in the past few days, injection work has taken place in order, ensuring vaccination safety and safety against Covid-19 in terms of the distance between stages in an injection line and between injection lines at one location. Children coming to the injection site to ensure a safe distance, are divided into many injection sessions, each session with an appropriate number.

On November 2, the city organized 112 points with 209 injection teams, expected to inject more than 49,000 children. The campaign to vaccinate children in Ho Chi Minh City started on October 27. The city is continuing to deploy at school and community injection sites, with an expected total of 870,000 children.

Ho Chi Minh City is the first locality in the country to vaccinate children. The Ministry of Health has currently approved two vaccines for children 12-17 years old, which are Pfizer’s and Moderna’s. It is expected that the vaccination campaign for children will be held across the country from November with Pfizer-BioNTech’s Comirnaty vaccine (currently there is not enough Moderna vaccine).

The city is focusing on vaccination resources for students aged 12-17 and a group of students and workers traveling from other provinces to the city. Up to now, more than 7.6 million people in the city have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, more than 5.7 million people have received the second dose.

The Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City and the wards and communes have made a detailed plan and proposed the Ministry of Health to use a suitable vaccine to vaccinate children 3-12 years old.
