Ministry of Information and Communications has a 37-year-old Deputy Minister


Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Director of the Department of Information Technology, has just been appointed as Deputy Minister of Information and Communications.

“Today is a happy day for the entire ICT industry, especially the IT world, because for a long time, the Ministry of Information and Communications has only had a Deputy Minister coming from the IT people”, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung shared that at the Prime Minister’s announcement ceremony No. 1818 / QD-TTg on the afternoon of November 17.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung was born in 1983, is a former student of high school specializing in Mathematics – Hanoi University of Education, and an alumnus of Hanoi University of Technology.

As a student, Mr. Dung received a full scholarship to study Information Technology at NTU University (Singapore). He is also one of 10 typical young faces to receive the 2010 Golden Globe Award organized by the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

During his 13 years working at the Ministry of Information and Communications (previously the Ministry of Post and Telematics), Mr. Dung in turn went through the positions: Specialist, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Secretary of the Ministry’s Leadership, Deputy Director of Department of Information Security, Director of Department of Information Security and Director of Department of Informatics.

Mr. Dung has participated in researching, consulting, presiding over, editing and implementing the Party’s guiding documents, the State’s laws, completing the legal corridor, the system of standards and technical regulations. on the safety and security of Vietnam’s network. In which, typically the Law on Network Information Security and its guiding documents.

Mr. Dung is also the advisor, editor and organization of the implementation of the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030 and helping Vietnam increase 50 places on the global ranking of information safety. information in the period 2017-2019.

According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung is currently Vietnam’s only 8X Deputy Minister. In addition, in the history of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Party Committee has never had the current 3 generations 6X, 7X and 8X. That shows the confidence of the Party and Government in the Ministry of Information and Communications, the leadership of the ministry and the individual Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that this is a young officer with good quality, with many aspirations to dedicate, to study well and to be well trained.

Because of his young age, many people will expect that the new Deputy Minister himself needs to perform better in response to the trust of the Party and Government.

Many ministries and agencies are seeing digital transformation as a solution to boost their fields. With the task of leading the national digital transformation, the responsibility of the Ministry of Information and Communications and Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung will therefore be great.

With his expectation on the new Deputy Minister, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung asked to clarify and set higher goals for the IT field because this industry will contribute to speeding up the country’s development. The Minister also wanted Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung to find unique solutions for the country to develop quickly, find out an approach to turn difficult things into easy things.

At the decision-giving ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Huy Dung shared a heartfelt saying: “The person who works always must be like pecking a small fish, like carrying a big rock”. That means that the manager must always be careful, meticulous in every detail and must shoulder a heavy responsibility.

The 37-year-old Deputy Minister said he understood the responsibility of service and had a deep belief in the mission of using technology to make Vietnam strong and prosperous. He pledged to work with a wholehearted spirit for the mission of bringing technology into every corner of life and making life a better thanks to technology.
