Kabul stunned by two serial blasts, over 60 injured, Taliban condemns attack

Explosion Outside Kabul Airport: Two big blasts took place outside Kabul airport on Thursday evening. The first blast took place at the east gate of the airport while the second blast took place near the Baron Hotel. US Defense Department Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed the explosion. At least 13 people were killed and more than 60 were injured in two suicide attacks outside Kabul airport.

The blast comes at a time when thousands of Afghans have been trying to leave the country since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and have gathered at the airport for the past several days. Western countries had feared an attack amid a massive evacuation operation from Kabul airport. Earlier in the day, several countries appealed to people to stay away from the airport as there were fears of a suicide attack.

US Defense Department spokesman John Kirby said, “We can confirm that there was an explosion at the Abe Gate.” Because of this, American and other civilians have suffered casualties. We can also confirm that another blast happened near Beran Hotel. Distance between Abe Gate and Beran Hotel is short. We will continue to provide updates.

Let us inform that Britain’s intelligence had warned about the attack. Britain’s Defense Secretary James Hippie had said that this is a danger whose details I cannot give you, but this danger is very near, very credible and very deadly.
