IPhone 12 users in Vietnam can start using 5G

This is definitely good news for those who are looking to experience the convenience of 5G technology. This also brings 5G closer to Vietnamese users.

According to information from Viettel, since today (March 6), the iPhone 12 has begun to be compatible with the 5G wave of this carrier. Previously, the iPhone 12 could not access 5G when using 2 SIMs (physical SIM and eSIM), but now this error has been fixed.

IPhone models compatible with Viettel’s 5G network include iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

To use 5G, iPhone users in Vietnam will have to install iOS 14.5 Beta operating system. The second condition is that the user must be in a random list selected by the carrier.

In a recent move, Apple also said it will soon open a commercial version on iPhone for 5G Viettel network, officially updating for users.

Thus, iPhone 12 is the latest smartphone to use 5G in Vietnam after Xiaomi Mi 11, Oppo Reno 5G and Samsung Galaxy S21.

Mobile users can also use 5G on some models such as: Samsung Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 2, Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro and Poco F2 pro, Realme X50 pro 5G, ZTE Axon 10 pro, Huawei P40 and P40 pro 5G, Nokia: 8.3 5G.

Up to now, 5G network has been present in many provinces across the country such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Phuoc, Thu Duc, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh. Users only need to have a compatible phone to connect to 5G waves. In Hanoi, according to the test of Pv. VietNamNet, the trial 5G speed is now 10-20 times higher than the normal mobile Internet access speed.

Users will not need to change SIM to be able to use the 5G service. Many carriers also have data support programs so that Vietnamese users can experience free 5G service.
