PM Modi Speech: India and Israel have completed 30 years of diplomatic relations. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “The history of relations between our countries is very old. India and Israel have had strong relations for centuries.” He expressed hope that the relations between the two countries will establish new dimensions in the future. Modi said, “Today when the world is witnessing significant changes. The importance of India-Israel relations has increased even more. I am confident that India-Israel friendship will achieve new milestones in mutual cooperation in the coming decades.” ” The PM said that the cooperation between India and Israel has played an important role in the development stories of both the countries.
The PM said, “Our people have had a close relationship for centuries. As has been the basic nature of India, for hundreds of years our Jewish community has lived and flourished in a harmonious environment in Indian society without any discrimination. He has made a significant contribution to our development journey. The year is about to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its independence.
This address of the Prime Minister has come at a time when the politics of India has been heated due to the news of the American newspaper ‘New York Times’. According to this news, the purchase of Pegasus spyware and a missile system was mainly involved in the deal of about two billion dollars in state-of-the-art weapons and intelligence equipment between India and Israel in 2017. After this report, the opposition Congress has launched an all-out attack on the government. The Congress has accused the government of betraying Parliament and the Supreme Court, hijacking democracy and indulging in sedition.
India recognized Israel on 17 September 1950, but full diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 29 January 1992. Earlier this week Israel’s envoy to India Naor Gilone said the 30th anniversary of India-Israel diplomatic ties is a good opportunity to look ahead and shape the relationship for the next 30 years. He expressed confidence that the close cooperation between the two countries in various fields would increase further in the years to come. India’s Ambassador to Israel Sanjeev Singla said, “We are proud to mark the 30th anniversary of our bilateral relationship and look forward to using the special logo throughout the year to celebrate this special milestone.”
