Speaking at the 50th Session of the Human Rights Council on the topic “Human Rights Status of Women and Girls in Afghanistan”, she said, “We are deeply concerned about the recent developments in Afghanistan. , which directly affects the well-being of women and girls of Afghanistan. There are increasing efforts to exclude women from public life in Afghanistan.
Agarwal said, “The rights of women and girls, including the right to education, must be ensured.” He also expressed India’s deepest condolences to the victims and their families and those affected by the devastating earthquake in Afghanistan.

Agarwal said India shares the grief of the people of Afghanistan and “as a true friend of Afghanistan” has sent 27 tonnes of emergency relief aid through two flights for the people of Afghanistan.
Aggarwal said that due to the current situation, there has been a huge hindrance in the basic rights of citizens, children, girls and women, freedom of expression, access to education and medical care. He also called upon all concerned to help Afghanistan.
