In body: Hofesh Shechter, multi-card choreographer

PORTRAIT – The Israeli choreographer behind the piece In Your Rooms currently at the Palais Garnier, plays her own role in Cédric Klapisch’s film.

In addition to Marion Barbeau, whom fans know as one of the most beautiful first dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, the cinematic revelation ofIn body, this is Hofesh Shechter. Born in Jerusalem in 1970, the choreographer lives in London and is well in court in France: his ballets are currently on view at the Palais Garnier and the Théâtre des Abbesses. And his honeymoon with the dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet is so strong that he plans to design a creation for them. The artist is multi-card. Initially, he wanted to be a composer.

In Israel, he learned the piano and kibbutz folk dances, came to Paris to study percussion before arriving in London in 2002 to start a musical career.
