India recommended Pakistan to be placed in FATF’s ‘gray list’
India has been consistently protesting against cross-border terrorism being served by Pakistan in Kashmir and inaction against the masterminds and planners of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. Banned terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahideen and their chiefs Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and Syed Salahuddin are protected in Pakistan. A UN Security Council report released earlier this year said that the three terrorist groups are cooperating with Al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

India on Thursday strongly recommended that Pakistan, which continues to provide safe havens to banned terrorist groups, should be kept in the gray list. After the conclusion of its three-day virtual session on Friday, the FATF decided to put Pakistan on its gray list.
