The Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City shortened the time of home isolation for F0 from 14 days to 10 days, children under 3 years old are not monitored at home, adding anti-viral drug favipiravir to treatment.

According to the new guidance of the Department of Health, F0 can be lifted from isolation, treated at home when 10 days have passed and have negative antigen test results by medical staff or self-monitoring patients. . The locality issues a certificate confirming that F0 has recovered from the disease and a certificate of completion of the prescribed isolation period, and at the same time issues a leave certificate to enjoy social insurance for employees.

Criteria for isolation at home also change with age. Specifically, F0 between the ages of 3 and 64 are isolated at home, instead of 1 to 50 years old as before.

Meanwhile, other conditions have not changed much from before: F0 is isolated at home when asymptomatic or clinical symptoms are mild, no signs of respiratory failure SpO2 97% when breathing air weather, breathing rate of 20 breaths per minute or less, no underlying disease, not pregnant, not obese, having had the full dose of vaccine…

F0 does not meet the above conditions, but can be isolated at home if the underlying disease is stable, the health has not shown any abnormal signs, received the full dose of the vaccine or after 14 days from the date of the first injection, wishes to be isolated. at home. If F0 is a child or cannot take care of themselves, a caregiver is required.

F0 meets the above two criteria, but the family has someone in the risk group, the Department encourages isolation in other places (no people in the risk group or concentrated isolation) to reduce the risk of infection.

The ward, commune and township health stations receive and update the list of F0 in the area. In case there is not enough evidence to determine that it is F0, the health station will test it (directly or remotely) with a rapid test licensed by the Ministry of Health.

Medical staff instruct F0 to isolate at home how to take care of themselves and monitor their health. In addition to necessary items such as thermometers, SpO2 meters, masks, physiological saline gargles, etc., the patient needs to prepare medicine to treat Covid-19 (issued) and medicine to treat underlying diseases. enough for one month.

F0 at home will be provided with Covid-19 treatment drugs within 24 hours after updating the list. Asymptomatic F0 were given drug package A (common drugs including antipyretics and mood-enhancing drugs), with mild symptoms were given package A and C (antiviral drugs). F0 belonging to the risk group are given priority to immediately issue C package of drugs when they have positive test results, take antiretroviral drugs before considering isolation at home or treatment facilities.

F0 was sampled for home testing (RT-PCR or rapid antigen test) on day 14 to prepare for the end of the isolation period. Family members or caregivers of F0 with suspected symptoms of Covid-19 can also take samples for testing.

In mid-December 2021, the Ministry of Health allowed Ho Chi Minh City to pilot a reduction of the concentrated isolation period to 7 days for asymptomatic F0 who had received two doses of the vaccine and had negative results on the 7th day.
