Men have less need for hair removal than women, usually only in some cases of hirsutism on the chest and back. The darker and thicker the hair, the faster and more obvious the effect of laser or light therapy is compared to the thin, light hair. Laser hair removal is not effective. According to doctors, temporary hair removal is a quick and cheap method but not durable. It can cause unpleasant side effects such as pain, folliculitis, scarring, hyperpigmentation, folliculitis (ingrown hairs), allergic contact dermatitis… Hair in each area has a characteristic structure about size as well as length. Therefore, taking these temporary measures can cause hair to grow back longer and thicker. Permanent hair removal is highly effective but takes a long time, can be painful and more expensive.

Care after hair removal

Immediately after hair removal, redness and swelling may persist for up to 2 hours or longer. You should apply a cold compress if the pain persists. If scabs are present, apply a moisturizing cream or ointment that contains an antibiotic. Darker pigmented skin is uncomfortable and lasts longer on light skin.

Always keep the treatment area clean and dry, if redness or irritation continues, skip makeup and moisturizer or deodorant (underarms) until the condition is clear. irritation is reduced.

The affected area should be washed gently with mild soap. Skin should be patted dry and not rubbed for the first 48 hours. Do not apply makeup, lotions, moisturizers or deodorants on the treated area for the first 24 hours.

Avoid sun exposure to reduce the possibility of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation spots on the hair removal area within the first two months. Use sunscreen (SPF > 30) during treatment.
