HCM City adds 11 more cases of Covid-19 with unknown source of infection

Ho Chi Minh City recorded 11 cases of unknown source of infection, 3 cases of occupational exposure, out of 155 positive cases of nCoV announced by the Ministry of Health on June 29.

According to the HCM City Center for Disease Control (HCDC), 11 cases under epidemiological investigation reside in Nha Be (1), Tan Binh (2), Hoc Mon (2), Thu Duc City (5), Binh Thanh (1).

For more than half a month, the city has detected many new infections every day through screening of unknown sources. According to the HCDC representative, this shows that the pathogen is still spreading silently in the community.

Of the 141 cases of contacts investigated today, 15 were recorded in the chain of infection related to markets, including Hoc Mon wholesale market – Son Ky market (9), Binh Dien market (4). , Hoang Hoa Tham market (2).

The remaining patients were found from chains related to the Renaissance Mission group (5), Ehome chain (2), Lac Ty Binh Tan company (3), Kim Minh company in district 5 (1), grocery store Trung My Tay wood (2), Hnam Mobile chain (6), staff of District 7 People’s Committee (7), beauty salon in Go Vap (1), De Tham bottle shop in District 1 (4), mechanical workshop in Hoc Subject (2), employee of Hospital for Tropical Diseases (1), Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park (13), employee of a financial consulting company in Binh Thanh District (20).

There are also cases involving patients, including cases 11300 (2), 9963 (1), 14862 (7), 14918 (1), 16087 (7), 14873-14994 (1), 9962 (6). ).

For about two weeks now, the number of infections in Ho Chi Minh City usually accounts for the majority of community cases announced in a day in the whole country. The city is ranked second in terms of total cases in the 4th outbreak with 3,591 cases, just behind Bac Giang (5,630 cases).

At the recent meeting of the anti-Covid-19 steering committee, Ho Chi Minh City officials said that the Delta strain (the strain first discovered in India) spreads quickly, the infections are silent in the populous community, in a large and complex area. complicated, causing the number of Covid-19 cases to increase rapidly despite Ho Chi Minh City’s social distancing for the past several weeks. The number of infections is expected to continue to increase, although the city continues to maintain social distancing.

The city is implementing a large-scale screening campaign for more than 5 million people in all districts and Thu Duc city, from June 26 to July 5, with the goal of 500,000 samples a day.

Ho Chi Minh City raised the anti-epidemic level according to directive 10, from 0:00 on June 20 to present. HCDC recommends that people strictly follow the regulations under this directive, only leaving the house when absolutely necessary.
