Hanoi tests nCoV people going to rehab

Before entering drug rehabilitation facilities, addicts in Hanoi will be sampled for Covid-19 screening.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) cooperates with the Health Centers of districts and other units to organize sampling for testing and screening for drug addicts, according to the guiding document dated July 25 by the Ha Noi Department of Health Interior. The method is a rapid antigen test.

According to the Hanoi Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, currently, public drug addiction treatment facilities in the city are managing 3,324 addicts. On average, 300 people are admitted to drug rehabilitation every month.

Health officials assess that the situation of the Covid-19 epidemic is increasingly complicated and unpredictable, and the risk of infection among drug addicts is very high. The majority of drug addicts are vagrants without a stable place of residence, often moving from one place to another, and interacting with many people in different localities. In addition, these people have difficulty in making epidemiological declarations because they do not remember their travel schedules and make dishonest declarations, so they cannot determine the risk of Covid-19 infection before entering rehab.

This outbreak has appeared Covid-19 cases at drug rehabilitation facilities in some provinces. For example, in Binh Duong, more than 500 people at Bo La rehab facility tested positive for nCoV.

The Hanoi Department of Health requested the health centers of districts and towns to continue to review and take samples for testing cases with symptoms of cough, fever .., cases with epidemiological factors returning from the region. epidemic, high-risk locations.
