Hanoi started to vaccinate Covid-19

30 doctors who are frequently in contact with Covid-19 at Thanh Nhan Hospital were vaccinated on the morning of March 9.

From early morning, vaccine batches were transported from cold storage Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) to Thanh Nhan Hospital. The hospital will arrange consultation rooms for pre-vaccination, vaccination, post-injection monitoring and emergency care.

As the first person to be vaccinated, Dr. Nguyen Trong Hung, Department of Occupational Diseases, Thanh Nhan Hospital, said: “I volunteered to give the first injection and fully believe in the effectiveness of the licensed vaccine”.

After being injected, doctors and medical staff stayed in the monitoring room for 30 minutes. Within an hour, the vaccination was completed, 30 people were healthy and back to work.

The vaccine used in this injection is AstraZeneca, one of three Covid-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use, for use in more than 50 countries and territories. . Hanoi was allocated 8,000 doses by the Ministry of Health.

Khong Minh Tuan, deputy director of the Center for Disease Control Hanoi (CDC), said 300 staff members of the unit are next injected, then to other priority groups. The time of vaccination is from March 9 to 18, in 30 districts. Each district or town shall select at least 2 injection sites at a regional polyclinic, commune, ward or township health station or at a local hospital based on the number of people who need to be injected by their unit. .

Persons prioritized for vaccination are those participating in the screening, sampling and treatment of patients with / suspected Covid-19 at hospitals; Mobile staff for epidemic prevention, epidemiological investigation, traceability, epidemic surveillance, epidemic treatment, sampling and medical examination; Steering committee for epidemic prevention at the polyclinic of the medical center or the medical station of the commune, ward or town.
