French footballer Tiémoué Bakayoko, taken for a drug trafficker, arrested in Milan

French footballer Tiémoué Bakayoko, a selection with the Blues, was arrested by Italian police in Milan earlier this month, wrongly suspected of having participated in a shooting linked to drug trafficking. One of the police officers held him at gunpoint for a few seconds while he was driving his SUV with friends, before pulling him out of the vehicle and pressing him against the police vehicle to search it.

It was only a few minutes later that the police realized their mistake: they had arrested the 27-year-old defensive midfielder, on loan from Chelsea FC to AC Milan. The confused Italian police released him immediately with a pat on the back.

Accused of racism, the Italian police replied that Tiémoué Bakayoko and the other passenger “coincidentally matched the descriptions of the suspects”. These facts date back to July 3, but this bewildering video has just been released on social networks, reports “la Gazzetta dello Sport”.
