The former Minister of Economy of Nicolas Sarkozy, Francois Baroin, does not only put his network at the service of the candidate Valérie Pécresse for the presidential election. He puts it especially at the service of investment banking. The British bank Barclays must indeed announce this Thursday the appointment of the politician, who has just completed his mandate at the head of the Association of Mayors of France, as president of his French entity.

Since 2018, he has held a senior advisory role there. “We have strong growth ambitions for Barclays Europe, and France is at the heart of our strategy,” said Francesco Ceccato, CEO of Barclays Europe. François Baroin’s experience and stature make him an ideal choice to become chairman for France. By expanding his role, he will be able to contribute even more strongly to the expansion of our activities in France. »
