Former Pakistan Home Minister Rehman Malik dies, was hospitalized after corona infection

Senior Pakistan leader and former Home Minister Rehman Malik has passed away. He was admitted to the hospital in Islamabad after being infected with Corona. He was 70 years old. According to the report of Khaleej Times, senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and former minister Rehman Malik was admitted to the hospital due to complications of Kovid-19. His lungs were seriously affected due to infection with Corona. According to local media reports, his spokesman Riyaz Ahmed Turi has confirmed that the PPP senator was admitted to the hospital in Islamabad as he was suffering a lot due to complications related to Kovid-19.

Former Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik passes away

Many politicians have expressed grief after the death of senior Pakistan leader and former Home Minister Rehman Malik. He is survived by his wife and two sons. On 1 February this month, PPP Senator Sehar Kamran had told that Rehman Malik’s health has deteriorated due to which he has been put on ventilator. Late Rehman Malik obtained his doctorate degree from Karachi University. Pakistan’s leader Mumtaz Ali Chandio said, “Deeply saddened to hear about the sudden demise of Senator Rehman Malik. It is really a big loss. May Allah rest his soul in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to the family”.

Was Pakistan’s Home Minister from 2008 to 2013

Rehman Malik was the Home Minister of Pakistan at the time of 26/11 attacks. During his rule, he was also awarded Sitara-e-Shujaat, one of the country’s highest civilian awards, by the Government of Pakistan. He served as the Home Minister of Pakistan from 2008 to 2013. He is said to have been one of the closest aides of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. There is a wave of mourning in Pakistan after the death of Rehman Malik.
