Film festivals are resisting online

From Angers to Gérardmer, rather than suppressing events, the directors organize them on the internet.

Exist at all costs despite the pandemic: this seems to be the watchword of several festivals dedicated to the seventh art this month. Whether for the little ones, like the Crazies of the cinema, collectors’ fair of the seventh art, in Argenteuil (from January 29 to 31), that of the short film in Clermont-Ferrand (end of January).

Or the most anticipated: the 33e edition of the Premiers plans d’Angers festival, which opens today and on the 28e Gérardmer Fantastic Film Festival, which its director Bruno Barde sees as “A step towards maintaining art in the age of the image, which is a new trend in our civilization” (January 27 to 31). All of them decided to take place online instead of being deleted or postponed to a random date.
