Facebook system crashed globally


Around 10:34 pm on October 4, Vietnam time, all Facebook services globally including the Facebook homepage, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp were inaccessible.

From about 22:00 tonight, Facebook users in Vietnam have experienced intermittent and difficult access, tasks such as commenting and sending messages cannot be performed.

Until about 10:34 pm on the same day, all Facebook services including Facebook homepage, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp were in a state of inactivity. Users accessing the Facebook.com homepage will encounter a network error message when the connection is too long to be made.

Facebook is having problems globally.

According to global issue tracking site DownDetector, Facebook services are currently reporting problems around the world with more than 82,000 bug reports on the Facebook.com homepage, 76,000 bug reports on Instagram.

Messaging services like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger have reported fewer errors, but are also unusable at this time.

Large-scale problems for Facebook are rare and are usually fixed early, so cases lasting more than 2 hours like this one are quite rare. The cause of tonight’s incident is unknown.
