However, Facebook has a dark side, it has abused its market dominance to exploit the personal data of users in the UK,” Lovdahl Gornsen said.
Lovdahl Gormsen also alleges that Facebook collects data within its platform and through mechanisms like the Facebook Pixel, allowing it to build a “big picture” of Internet usage and create deep data profiles that can high value.
Facebook says people use its service because it brings value, users have complete control over what information they post on Facebook and with whom they share it.
The incident comes just days after the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rejected Facebook’s appeal efforts in its antitrust lawsuit. This is one of the biggest US challenges for a technology company in decades, as the country tries to control the expansion of tech giants.
