On January 13, the Vietnam Information Security Association – VNISA coordinated with the Information Security Department (Ministry of Information and Communications), the Department of Political Education and Student Affairs (Ministry of Education and Training) and the Children’s Department (Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs). ) has officially introduced the Student with Information Security contest in 2022.

Sharing at the event, VNISA President Nguyen Thanh Hung emphasized that taking care of and protecting children is the responsibility of the whole society. In the digital age, the Internet has become an environment for children to study, play, and connect with friends, but it also contains many potential risks of abuse. Therefore, creating conditions for children to raise awareness and self-defense skills in cyberspace is a matter of special concern in many countries around the world and in Vietnam.
As a professional association in the field of information security, recognizing its social responsibility towards the young generation, in 2022 the Association hosted the online contest “Students with Information Security”. news in 2022.
The organization of the Contest also aims to implement the Project on “Propaganda to raise awareness and disseminate knowledge about information security in the period of 2021-2025” and “Program to protect and support children to have healthy interactions”. , creating on the network environment for the period of 2021-2025″, approved by the Prime Minister.
The contest will provide students with knowledge and skills to use the Internet safely, create a healthy and useful playground, promote students’ thinking ability, help them identify and prevent avoid security risks in the network environment.
“This is the first year the contest is hosted by the Association and will be maintained and become a part of the annual Vietnam Information Security Day activities series,” added Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hung.
Representative of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Director of the Information Security Department Nguyen Thanh Phuc said that the population of Vietnam is about 98 million people, of which about 24.7 million are children. In Vietnam, two-thirds of children can access Internet-connected devices, of which 43.4% have an average use time of 1-3 hours a day.
The Internet environment brings many benefits and opportunities for children such as: Providing knowledge and information; interact, share, connect; entertainment, attractive, diverse. However, the Internet also has many unpredictable pitfalls for the target group of children – who do not have sufficient awareness and skills to protect themselves in the online environment.

Agreeing with the views of the leaders of the Information Security Administration, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, Deputy Director of the Department of Children, said that the Child Protection Switchboard 111 managed by the Department in 2021 received 458 consultation calls. about problems in the online environment, doubling the number of calls in 2020. The contest is expected to attract 1 million students across the country
According to the representative of the Organizing Committee, the organization of the Student with Information Security contest has been started since 2021. To ensure the ability to be proactive in the implementation of the exam, the Organizing Committee has coordinated with Bkav build and develop their own exam software, so that they can be mastered and improved year by year.
By October 2021, the exam bank and exam software have been built, ready for the Contest to be held in November 2021. Besides the website introducing the contest at childsafe.vn, an animated film about the contest has been completed since June 2021 with the support of the Information Security Administration and JICA Vietnam.

Contestants take the exam online via website thihsattt.vn of the Competition Organizing Committee. Each contestant can only register for one account to participate in the contest. Candidates can only take the exam once and can participate in the exam at any time during the period announced by the Organizing Committee.
As planned, the mock exam system will be opened from February 16, 2022. Candidates are allowed to take the test an unlimited number of times. The official contest time is expected to last from March 3 to March 24, 2022, right after the contest is officially launched.
The exam “Students with Information Security in 2022” includes 25 multiple-choice questions randomly provided by the exam system from the test bank. The candidate’s time to complete the test is 30 minutes.
