The resumption of post-containment activities is in sight, and government aid for companies will continue during the summer. Nevertheless, they are doomed to decrease. Journalist David Boéri was present on the 19/20 set, Tuesday 11 May, to take stock.
Government assistance for businesses will continue during the summer, but it is doomed to decrease. Partial unemployment will be maintained, but it will gradually be modified. After long months of closure, the “whatever the cost“is coming to an end. For companies, the remainder will gradually rise: from 0% in June, it will rise to 15% of the payroll in July and 25% in August.”The idea is to re-encourage reopening, and therefore the return to employment“, analyzes the journalist David Boéri on the set of 19/20, Tuesday May 11.
The same goes for the solidarity fund. Here too, the government now wants a real safety net. All shops, cafes and restaurants that are closed will receive aid of 10,000 euros per month or a maximum of 20% of the turnover achieved in 2019, before the health crisis. And compensation for loss of activity will also decrease. It is no longer a fixed price: the assistance becomes personalized and adapts to the pace of the recovery. The government wants above all to prevent this second deconfinement from leading to a series of bankruptcies.
