Earthquake tremors in Indonesia’s Bali, 3 killed and 7 injured in landslide

Indonesia Earthquake: A moderate-intensity earthquake hit Indonesia’s Bali island early Saturday. Another tremor was felt after this earthquake. Three people died in this and seven others were injured.

The US Geological Survey said that the magnitude of the quake has been measured at 4.8. The earthquake struck 62 kilometers northeast of Bali’s port city of Singaraja and at a depth of 10 kilometers. After this a tremor of magnitude 4.3 came at a depth of 282 km.

The island was opened to international travelers for the first time after a year
Gede Darmada, the head of the island’s search and rescue agency, said information was being gathered about the loss of life and property due to the quake. He said that the injured people have broken bones, many have head wounds. The earthquake caused landslides in the hill district, killing at least two people and cutting off access to at least three villages.

Darmada said a three-year-old girl was killed when debris fell in Karangasem, the nearest from the epicenter of the quake. The island, hugely popular with tourists, was opened to international travelers on Thursday for the first time in more than a year.
