General practitioner Phan Xuan Trung (Medical Center Hoa Hao) created this group initially for the purpose of medical support, calling on colleagues to support patients during a period when many patients are in need of medical assistance. . Initially, it was mainly doctors in Ho Chi Minh City that participated, so far there have been many forces in the provinces joining the group, together to advise people on the disease.
“The fast-growing team and multi-disciplinary support exceeded my expectations,” Dr. Trung told VietNamNet. “Every question now has tens and hundreds of people to consult and help. This makes our work even more meaningful,” added the doctor.
Due to the large number of members and too many posts, Dr Trung’s group currently has more than a dozen people to review posts to avoid duplication. All of these people are volunteering.
The large number of members and the medical team willing to help have created momentum for this group to become the center of philanthropic activities.
Many individuals and businesses announced support for medicines, food assistance, ambulances, and disinfecting sprays in this group. Not to mention many people volunteering to monitor some F0 cases to support when needed. Many city policies are also spread so that people in need can contact.
Before the distance, Doctor Trung had a clinic but then had to close it to prevent the epidemic. The doctors themselves also have patients who need transfusions and blood samples at home, but these services are also temporarily suspended. This made Doctor Trung come up with the idea of establishing a Facebook group “Helping each other during the epidemic season”, to connect people in need and doctors with free time.
“The group resonates well, helping many people makes me very happy. The credit belongs to the doctors, experts, sponsors, and even those who support me in managing the group,” shared Dr. Trung.
