The Hanoi Department of Health on the evening of May 21 said that the director of Hosiden Co., Ltd., living in the Mandarin Garden apartment building, tested positive for nCoV, and the patient number has not been determined by the Ministry of Health, so it should be considered as suspected infection.
This person is a Korean national and is the CEO of Hosiden company. He lives in Mandarin Garden apartment building, Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district, Hanoi. Every day, he goes to work at Hosiden company in Quang Chau Industrial Park (Bac Giang) by the company’s 16-seat car.
On May 14, he was taken for a PCR test at the company, the results were negative. On May 20, he was taken again for a PCR test, the result was positive, by Military Hospital 110. Currently, he is being treated at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases 2.
Investigating and tracing the epidemiology of this person in the last 3 weeks, preliminary authorities identified 14 related cases. The functional force has taken samples to test all F1. Test results for his wife and 2 children were negative, other cases are pending.
Hanoi Department of Health said that up to now, through the review, 429 people in the city have been working in industrial zones in Bac Giang province. In which, the number of samples tested was 332 cases, all samples tested negative. The number of people working in industrial zones in Bac Ninh province is 2,660 people, of which 2,171 test samples were taken, all of which were negative.
Hosiden Company is currently a complex outbreak in Bac Giang. According to Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee, to date, Quang Chau Industrial Park has recorded more than 400 Covid-19 patients, mainly workers in Hosiden company.
As of tonight, the total number of Covid-19 patients in Bac Giang during this outbreak is 767 cases. Bac Giang has closed 4 industrial parks in this province, including Quang Chau industrial zone where Hosiden Company is located.
