The 44-year-old actor, notably accused of trying to strangle his ex-girlfriend in an Oklahoma City hotel, has been released on bail. And proclaims his innocence.
Actor Devin Ratray, who played Buzz McAllister in Mom I missed the plane , was arrested Wednesday, December 22 for acts of domestic violence. An arrest warrant had been issued against him a week earlier.
The facts date back to December 8, as told by TMZ. That day, he allegedly punched in the face and tried to strangle the one who was already his ex-girlfriend, after a heated argument at the Hyatt Hotel in Oklahoma City. The young woman had to bite the actor in the hand to escape, while he was hitting her. The latter filed a complaint against him on December 15. After a week of evading authorities, Devin Ratray finally showed up at Oklahoma City Police Station on December 22 to answer for his actions, denying the charges against him.
A deposit of 25,000 dollars
The actor was briefly questioned by local police. After taking a forensic photo, he was charged with “domestic assault and battery” and “domestic beatings and injuries by strangulation“. He was then released on payment of a $ 25,000 bond.
Now 44, Devin Ratray rose to prominence in 1990 alongside Macaulay Culkin in the Christmas classic Mom I missed the plane. At only thirteen years old, the role of Buzz McAllister then gave him worldwide notoriety. After playing in the sequel to the film two years later, he was very discreet on the screens for several years. It was not until the early 2000s to see him chain roles in television series and films with often limited success.
