With 380,000 admissions, the new live-action Disney film dethrones Conjuring at the top of ticket sales for its first week of operation.
Cruella, the Disney prequel to 101 Dalmatians, settled directly at the top of the French box office the week of its release. For their last week in small size, the cinemas attracted a little more than 2 million spectators.
380,000 people rushed to discover the origins of the famous villain, played by Emma Stone. The third installment of the horror saga Box office: Conjuring is well ahead of Oscar winner Nomadland, Goodbye idiots fifth meanwhile returned to second place at the box office (280,000 admissions), after two weeks at the top of the ranking.
French comedy Operation Portugal climbs to third place for its first week in theaters, with nearly 150,000 admissions, ahead of Without a sound 2 by John Krasinski with Emily Blunt, which drew nearly 144,000 horror enthusiasts for its second week of operation.
For the last week with rooms still subject to the 65% gauges, the total attendance was 2.1 million spectators, almost returning to the level reached during the reopening in mid-May (2.2 million the first week, before to fall back).
The other French films start from fifth place, with two comedies: A tour of my daughter, Following Back to my mother with Josiane Balasko, Mathilde Seigner, Line Renaud and Jérôme Commandeur, and The 2 Alfred by Bruno Podalydès, with his brother Denis Podalydès and Sandrine Kiberlain.
